-- — Please be sure your dogs are given to a good home, not someone that will abuse it. They depend on us. This latest dog fighting scheme is prevalent and it's too bad the dogs don't gang up on the ones doing this.
To all the "selfish" well-to-do or comfortable people without any worries, who love to belittle those less fortunate or just dislike every "free" government program, well think about this for a moment. The subsidies are spent in your place of business, or to purchase items here in Valdosta.
So your business isn't doing well, yet you leave early every other day, don't want to spend money on marketing and think it's still the year 1950? It's no wonder you aren't making money.
Speaking of the "ski jump" at the corner of Oak Street and Alden Avenue, what is the purpose of that delayed green? There are hardly any cars turning left onto Alden.
That's right, some county office employees with Lowndes County Schools got raises and teachers are going to have deductions from their checks for furlough days. Teachers, grow a backbone and stand up for yourselves! Have you ever heard of solidarity? Fight back! Otherwise, the people at the top will continue to prosper and you will become stagnant!
Thanks to the crew at the Northside Ellianos for having my drink ready at the window every morning! You guys deserve some recognition for your hard work.
Lowndes County teachers deserve to know who got raises at the central office and how much. Teachers have gone seven years with no cost of living increase. It's real easy for superiors making over $100,000 a year to tell us to tighten our belts.
A big shout out for enthusiastic local businesses who are supporting the South Georgia Classic Car Club's Fall Classic Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Oct. 26 show benefiting the Sheriffs' Youth Home residents in Hahira. Thanks for your support!
I completely agree with the rant in Tuesday's paper about all of the "free programs." Some people work for a living and some people vote for a living.
I would like to send a rave to Brooke at Hardee’s on Patterson Street. She always greets you in the morning with a smile. She is also very good at what she does. This is what customer service is all about.
