VALDOSTA — You can't place speed bumps down a road where the speed limit is 45 or 55. The city would be paying to have everyone’s cars fixed. Speed bumps are made for places like school driveways or to warn that a stop sign is approaching.

Do we need a lesson in yield signs again? When you're making a right or left-hand turn and you have a yield sign, you must slow down and look if someone is coming in from the other direction. When I'm making a left-hand turn into Walmart on Norman Drive and you're making a right-hand turn, you must yield to me. Likewise, if you're leaving Walmart, you must stop to see if people are turning in. You have a stop sign that means you must stop before proceeding. People turning in from Norman Drive don’t have a stop sign because they would get rear-ended by the next person turning.

Why doesn't everyone just worry about their own family and leave others’ alone? My child is in very good physical shape. He spends time playing video games but also spends time playing outside. And, yes, he even goes outside when it's cold. Come on, people. Research. You don't get sick from going outside when it's cold anymore than you get a cold from going to bed with your hair wet.

Colds are caused by infection not from cold weather. You get germs from other people who sneeze or cough in your face or transmit germs with their hands to objects that you touch. Catching a cold by being outside is just an old wives tale.

Oh my goodness. To the ranter responding to another "ranter" that said 364 days until Christmas and some people already have lights up: It is called a joke. They were not downing people for still having their lights up. Come on, it's silly someone even had to bring that to your attention.

Beware of those who are spreading rumors about the future of SGMC or any of the people working there. There's a group of doctors and attorneys in town sending false emails around town in the hopes of gaining enough public support to take it over. All they want is money. This same group already misused funds from another hospital and are under investigation.

So, it's wrong for stores to make their employees work on Thanksgiving, but it's okay for restaurants to make their employees work on Christmas?

The 12 Days of Christmas run from Dec. 26 to Jan 6th. Why is everyone in such a hurry to pack away decorations?
