The Valdosta Daily Times
Congratulations to the new Valdosta firefighters and the ones that got promoted, great job. Does anyone know if our local area sent any firefighters to help in the California wildfires?
Marijuana is an herb not a drug, and yes, it is being abused just as prescription drugs are also. Marijuana has many potential medical uses. The only problem is scientists are not interested in looking for the good, only the bad. Next time you get a pharmacy drug, read the possible side effects. Kinda makes you wonder if the cure is worth all the risks
Let's do it again, Valdosta. Everyone is invited to VSU’s TitleTown party today at the PE Complex. Watch our national championship games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. , and then SportsCenter at 6 p.m.
The simple solution to teens' time would be to encourage them to play baseball, etc. outside. When I was a teen, we occupied our time by shooting hoops, playing baseball in a local field, and just hanging together as friends. We didn't vandalize for kicks. Parents are sometime irresponsible.
A big rave to the Lowndes County Recycling Center. You are doing a good job. You are verifying my address and there is a lot less people dumping illegal there. If you were doing it five years ago, maybe we wouldn’t have to charge to collect our trash.
A huge rave to the talented musicians from around our great country who put on a fantastic performance at the Sounds of the South, band competition. The six bands that performed were all winners.
There is a teen night club at the Nashville VFW that holds dances for teens every other Friday night. You should call the VFW in Nashville and get the times of it. That is a great activity for teens.
I would strongly urge all readers to visit the Stop Oil Speculation Now Web site at www.stopoilspeculationnow.com. This site provides good analysis of the current situation with oil prices — hitting at the heart of the issue — unregulated speculation. It also provides an easy way for us as consumers to contact our senators and representatives.
