I can't help but laugh when I read Rant & Rave articles. So many people out there with nothing else to do but anonymously complain about this or that knowing that it's just useless words. So thanks Valdosta for keeping us amused.
How do banks legally charge me $5 to cash a check written on their customers account? This should be illegal. Why is this allowed? Greed is killing our country.
So you had to go "600 miles" to find cheaper medical care? That means you had to leave Georgia. Therefore, it's not just the doctors in Valdosta that are too expensive, but all the doctors in Georgia. While you were there, did you compare the cost of food, gas, housing etc.? Are you trying to tell us it's cheaper in Atlanta? Thanks for the laugh, I needed it!
I have been saying that Valdosta has no more country. Everything is private or you have to be a member. This used to be a respectable town, now everyone is trying to be "Hollywood.”
I called the Lowndes County Administration office asking for clarification on the new program. I was told that even though I am a resident of Lowndes County my tax money does not pay for the sites. So where does the money come from? SPLOST, still tax money, cannot be allocated for that. So the question is, if my tax money that I am forced to give Lowndes County does not pay for the recycling centers then where does it come from?

The Department of Transportation is the one who approved the speed limit change on Gordon Street. Things aren't always a "Remerton conspiracy.” I think things have certainly gotten better over there.
It is disheartening that businesses are violating agreements regarding acceptance of credit and debit cards. Imposing surcharges or minimum purchase requirements is prohibited by the VISA and MasterCard merchant agreements. If a business attempts to charge a fee to use your card, or if they state you must purchase a certain dollar amount, report this violation to your card issuer.
