The Valdosta Daily Times
Area folks can enjoy a busy and diverse weekend. At noon Saturday, the Valdosta State University Blazers play Carson-Newman in Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
Fans can enjoy a pleasant afternoon of football as VSU continues its season into the playoffs. If VSU wins, and there are enough people in the stands, ESPN may select Valdosta as the site for the next game.
Following the game, folks can enjoy Christmas activities downtown leading to the 5 p.m. parade stretching from Woodrow Wilson Drive along North Patterson Street to downtown.
There are also performances of Dance Arts and the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra’s “The Nutcracker” throughout the weekend; or Gingerbread Players of Theatre Guild Valdosta’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” throughout the weekend; or the Valdosta State University Choirs’ three performances Sunday afternoon of the annual Holiday Concert in the West Hall Rotunda.
Plenty to do this weekend, with many of these events scheduled so people can easily take advantage of attending more than one.
Valdosta’s events and activities are the gifts that keep on giving this time and any time of the year.
