THUMBS UP: To Fred DeLoach. DeLoach was among 26 Association County Commissioners of Georgia past presidents recognized for their contributions and achievements during their tenure as president of the state’s county association. He served as ACCG president from 1989-1990. He is also a past Lowndes County Commission chairman.



THUMBS UP: To the Valdosta State University students recently inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Membership in Alpha Chi is one of the highest academic honors which may be bestowed upon a VSU student, and is restricted to juniors, seniors, and graduate students who rank academically within the highest 10 percent of their respective classes. The following students were inducted: Mary Bausch, Abriel Blake, Emily Bradford, Janice Bruhl, Brenda Brunston, William Carraway, Jeffrey Chafin, Emily Dale, Dona Doutt, Ashley Fowler, Kylie Harrell, Nathan Hovey, Joy King, Megan Landi, Rebecca Morris, Sarah Moseley, Jenna Olson, Hollie O’Neal, Scott Pieper, Anna Powell, Joshua Rhudy, Eugene Rowell, Rebecca Rusk, Amanda Stripling, Sarah Taylor, Kelsey Tillman, Maria Trinh, Mindy Watkins, Emily Wiggins.



THUMBS UP: To KB Horse Camp for its Ride for Life Rodeo. The event was designed to increase awareness of childhood cancer as well as provide a fun day outdoors for children and families facing pediatric cancer in our region.
