Annual Bird Supper this week

--- — As the legislative session winds down to its final days, many in the community will travel to Atlanta this week to attend the annual Bird Supper.

A tradition for more than 50 years, the Bird Supper is the opportunity for local leaders and business owners to meet with the local delegation and state officials to discuss issues of importance to them.

Originally scheduled for February, the event had to be moved due to the massive ice storm in Atlanta that shut the city down for a few days.

Although it may be cold and wet in Atlanta this time around, the weather should hold up long enough to allow local leaders to get up there and back on Wednesday.

Tickets are $50 apiece and available through the city or the county. Held each year at the old railroad depot in Atlanta, near the Capitol, the dinner is always an excellent time to network and have casual conversations about serious topics.
