The Valdosta Daily Times
The South Georgia Classic at Kinderlou Forest this week is a tremendous benefit for Valdosta, Lowndes County, and all of South Georgia.
Now in its seventh year, the golf tournament brings in players, caddies, families, media, and more, which equals dollars in area hotels, restaurants, and stores. It brings a lot of attention to our community as well, as fans flock to the events and area amateurs vie for the opportunity to play a round with one of the professionals during one of the pro-ams.
We’re lucky to have the tournament here for a number of reasons, but we should also remember to support it.
The Classic is a great opportunity for Valdosta golf fans to watch how the pros do it live during the next several days.
Whether you’re an old hand at the sport, or know little about it, the South Georgia Classic is an opportunity to see some incredible play as well as boost our local involvement in the tour.
We should welcome the tour to town with our attendance, and demonstrate why Southern hospitality is another South Georgia classic.
