The Valdosta Daily Times
There’s a phrase for rethinking something that does not go as planned. That phrase: Back to the drawing boards.
No one has ever had to go back to the drawing boards for the Drawproject. Instead, artists and viewers keep coming back for more each year.
It’s a good thing, too. Through the years, Drawproject has raised thousands of dollars in scholarships for Valdosta State University Art and the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts.
This evening, visitors can bid on drawings from well-known area artists as well as talented folks from throughout Georgia, Florida and Alabama; all are artists who have donated their talents and time to help young artists develop their skills.
Many of the drawings will be auctioned during today’s reception.
Those that are not auctioned during the reception may still be purchased during the show’s run through Feb. 19 at the arts center. All of the
drawings will remain on exhibit until the show’s
end late next month.
So, visit the arts center this evening, not only will you see some intriguing art and help art students if you decide to bid on a work, you may also welcome a framed piece of art to your home.
