Rant & Rave for Friday, Nov. 27, 2009

Don't just beat on the "dads" for not being in the child’s life. There are sorry mother's out there too. Parents get into your child’s business. It's your job.

Congratulations to the Vikings! It was a great year and we look forward to next year. Keep your heads held high because you played with your hearts and kept your head in the game without showing your emotions on the field. We are proud of you.

I just want to thank Tiger Man at Wild Adventures for all the great times. Sorry to hear about the cancer and losing your job. We are all praying for you!

To the two girls who refused to stand for the National Anthem played in honor of the troops before Friday night's VSU basketball game: Your disrespect and ignorance were sickening. Your right to attend college and choose a meaningful career is a privilege that comes with living in the U.S.; these privileges are protected by the very troops you refused to honor. If you know of a place where you have more rights and privileges than in the U.S., I (and many others) will gladly purchase one-way tickets to send you there.

Interesting how another Lowndes season is defined by a lack of discipline (fumbles and offsides). I hope the team commits itself in the classroom in the off-season and to each other as they make another run for a championship in 2010.

To view the video ‘A War For Your Soul’ shown at Serenity Christian Church, search the title on the Internet. It's a satire about the history of blacks in America. Know that the struggles of one race affects all races. Good is always in play throughout the struggles for society to be able to unite and end an evil. Good will always win through the most long and evil times. Start today to help our president fulfill the Nobel Peace Prize expectations.

In response to “I am done:, Rev. Floyd Rose does not speak for all blacks. The problems are or will affect the city as one. Unless we stick together, we will accomplish nothing. Just because Rev. Rose makes remarks that include all whites, does not mean all blacks agree with his remarks. Is this your excuse not to help?

The city appears to have found an abundance of cash for the Martin Luther King park, frisbee and dog park. What about real problems like hunger, homelessness, seniors, education? No more SPLOST votes for me.
