It seems the real reason that people are against consolidation is because of football. Is football really more important than quality education?

To the ranter complaining about the reverend: I do not see people here genuinely "trying to be a loving community." There is racism and injustice throughout this community, and I wholeheartedly support the reverend's right to speak his mind. Your ad hominem attack on him avoids the real issues.

I pray none of my family or I have a wreck locally to be flashed in The Times. Surely there is other news than wrecks you can find. Please give people their privacy.

Are you serious? Earn the respect of the inmates? They are criminals. They don't deserve to have people earn their respect. That's why they are getting away with crimes like this in prison (where punishment is supposed to occur for the crimes they have already committed), because people are trying to earn respect and not put them in their place.

It was good to see someone taken to task for neglecting their animals and not being a responsible pet owner. They shouldn't be allowed to keep them. Where I work, we hear an awful lot of that.

Actually, the people promoting consolidation as a good idea thought keeping Tomberlin was also good.

To the 15 year vet of Valdosta State Prison: I spent over 10 years there and if you would have been there the day I was attacked, I promise you would have a different view than that of "respect.” Your opinion is wrong and insulting.

Men, please get in the lives of your children. I’m begging you to do so. There are so many that are making babies and walking away. I will bet you that on most of the murders here, the fathers haven't been in the lives of these young men, not that I’m making an excuse for what they have done. But dad’s it makes a big difference when you remain in the lives of these kids. Forget about the mother of the kid if you can't get along. And, focus on the innocent child. Let's take back our children.
