The Valdosta Daily Times
I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the Coach Rick Tomberlin and the Valdosta High School Wildcats. You’ve had a challenging season but made the playoffs anyway. Best wishes to Coach Tomberlin wherever his journey leads from here.
My opinion of parenting in Valdosta has sunk to an all new low. I observed several parents smoking in vehicles for which there is no excuse. Then tonight, at the movie theater, several children were constantly shushed by their parents yet the children continued to talk loudly. To top it off a child was allowed to play with a laser pointer during the movie. Does anyone teach manners any more?
Why does it seem the majority of our population here are trying so hard to be a loving community, while someone who calls himself a reverend is doing everything he can to cause hatred? This man who is supposed to be teaching the word of God and encouraging all of us to help and support one another is causing so many people of all races to feel more prejudice and racism.
For the supermarket bagger —I have a tip for you: please don't become offended when I tell you that I don't need any help taking my groceries to the car. After all, I unloaded the entire heaping buggy, while you stood there watching me. If I didn't need help then, I certainly don't need help putting them in the car.
I want to express sincere appreciation to a kind lady who paid for my groceries on Friday at Wal-mart on Inner Perimeter. I will remember you in my prayers.
Good thing consolidation was featured in Sunday's paper. Made me so mad, I went to church to repent. We don't need consolidation. Try being new to this area. Try figuring out the school systems, which schools are best, and then where to live so the kids can attend those schools. What an ordeal.
You have got to be kidding me about consolidation. The same people behind this must be the same people who had Coach Tomberlin fired.
Winnersville Elite Cheer & Dance is heading to their first competition on Saturday in Atlanta with three cheer teams and three dance teams. They have worked extremely hard and are ready to bring home the trophies. They will be the best teams to ever represent our area and will make the community proud. Thank you Winnersville Elite.
