Rant & Rave for Thursday, November 6, 2008

Do you want to hear about how undisciplined today’s youth are? My wife and I are just about ready to divorce because she refuses to discipline her son. To my credit, I'm not even allowed to yell at this kid. So now we have children purposely ruining relationships. America better wake up soon.

What has happened? As an Albany High graduate in 1966, we hated the Wildcats, but they were great. Bazemore, need I say more? Albany High is now AA and only a memory. Rebuild, reload, reboot, whatever. I miss the Wildcats. I married one of them, best thing I ever did.

The article about school uniforms stated that there is no problem with enforcing the dress code that is currently in place so why hit parents with the additional cost of these uniforms? My high school children will not want to wear this out in public after school.

People are already dumping their garbage on private property or on roadsides in rural Lowndes County. Who is going to clean up this mess or better yet who is going to pay to have it cleaned up? I am guessing I will.

Being a fan is not about who is at the top that year. A fan is someone who stays behind their team, win or lose.

If you are switching from a Georgia fan to a Alabama fan over a poorly played game on Saturday, then we don't want you. Go jump on someone else's bandwagon. You are probably one of the many, many Cats fans who only show up for big games and when they are winning, too. I am both a UGA and VHS fan and proud of it.

The Hummer that Lowndes has was confiscated from a drug dealer. I do agree that Lowndes should have enough money that the Halloween festivities could have continued for the children.

Kudos to Jimmy and all the volunteers at Moody Air Force Base for a wonderful retirement day. We appreciate it.
