Rant & Rave for Wednesday, November 4, 2009

The Valdosta Daily Times

VSU administrators: Did you really have to mail my health insurance information to me? Couldn't you have sent it through campus mail? I'm glad to know the money you saved by furloughing me was put to good use.

I think that everyone in this community needs to go out and support the Lowndes area market hog show this week. These kids work very hard and need our support.

Just throw those keys away that car dealers give you for a chance to win a car. Nothing but a gimmick. Won a MP3 player but have to send $19.95 for shipping.

How pathetic is it that people have to resort to submitting raves about themselves to get attention. They word it as though someone else other than them submitted it. Not enough attention as a child is my guess.

Mr. Hankerson I feel bad about your son getting injured at that mad house. Something needs to be done for the safety of these officers. The administration doesn’t care about them. Please someone investigate these prisons before an officer gets killed.

I would hope recent stories about the violence at Valdosta State Prison would bring muchneeded attention about how understaffed our prisons are. I have a loved one working there and know that it is a horribly dangerous environment. Let's talk to our politicians about getting them some help!

The City of Valdosta should enforce ticketing lawn care businesses that blow grass clippings, leaves, and pine needles into the street, which end up clogging the sewer system. This could generate up to $500 per infraction.

A big rave out to the driver who courteously turned down his stereo while stopped at a red light. Now, if all the other "noise boys and girls" would have the same amount of politeness, then the city would not need a noise ordinance.
