Rant & Rave for Monday, Nov. 2, 2009

I have been enjoying some of the comments on the war in Afghanistan. However, as someone that has been there numerous times, there is a lot of good being done. We must continue. We can win this, in my opinion. The real question is why are we waiting over two months now to make a decision on troops? When are the liberals going to stop blaming others and grow up?

Congratulations to Catherine Grass, VSU student, for her well thought out letter to The Times. She tells it like it is. The entitlement era must end.

Thank goodness that Pirate’s Bluff Seafood Restaurant is only passing on from one family member to another due to the owner’s poor health. So glad to know they are going to keep the same staff, workers, menus and specials for seniors.

The person who stated that Bush initiated the war in Iraq is a fool. The terrorists who slaughtered over 3,000 American citizens in New York, the fields of Pennsylvania and the Pentagon are the ones who started this, as you call it, "mess.”

Thank you Dean Poling for such a nice article about Stacia Watkins. OK Valdosta, we voted and became TitleTown. Let’s help this young lady from our town make it to the next level of competition. Good luck.

Why can’t the schools go back to teaching reading, writing and arithmetic like they use to? The way they teach now, no wonder the kids are behind on everything. Even the parents can’t understand it.
