Rant & Rave for Thursday, July 2, 2009

I am just as careful with my horses in this heat as I am with my child. Just as I go outside to play with my child, horses can also tolerate summer activities as long as it's not overdone. I even go as far as placing a fan water sprinkler in the field for them to enjoy when it's really hot outside and they play in it like kids.

To the ranter commenting on the Republican party and family values because a few members have had affairs I only have four words for you: John Kennedy, Bill Clinton. I could go on but am limited in space here. People in glass houses should think before they speak.

The only people I usually have a problem with during a movie are adults who act like children. They put their feet on the back of your seats, talk on their brightly lit cell phones, and talk the rest of the time. I think the curfew's great, but wouldn't expect it to be a quieter experience.

The Georgia Driver’s Manual states that when there are two or more lanes for traffic moving in the same direction, slower vehicles should use the right lane except when passing or making a left turn. Driving too slowly on certain highways can be dangerous because it impedes the regular flow of traffic. On certain highways, minimum speed limits are posted. If you are unable to drive at the minimum speed, you should seek an alternate route.

Scandals with politicians are just not in one party. How about Kennedy, Spitzer, Davis, Blago, Dodd, Murtha, Clinton, and the beat goes on. If you can't recognize the names they are all Democrats.

Judge Ellerbee's letter in Sunday's paper was right on target. Thanks for saying what needed to be said regarding the cinema/teenager issue.

The modern turn signal was first generally offered by major automobile manufacturers in 1939. It's also common knowledge it’s standard equipment on most all automobiles you might see on today’s roadways. If you're unaware where it is please look for the stalk coming off the left side of your steering wheel. Please don’t be alarmed if you hear a clicking noise associated with a flashing light on your dash if you move the lever, as this is normal and should be expected. If you’re unaware how to use your turn signal please go to the GSP office with your driver’s license in hand and they will gladly show you.
