To the ranter about buying the trash permit. I have worked at the same daycare for 16 1/2 years. Where I was working 8 hours a day. I have been cut back to 6 1/2 hours a day because I have been there the longest. I am a single parent who also takes care of her mother. I do not smoke, drink, or buy lottery tickets. And, yes, I do cry when nobody can see me because I don't know what I am doing to do. And, no, I do not go to McDonalds.

Instead of walking the Appalachian Trail, the South Carolina governor was hiking the Argentina Tail.

Oh man, it's just like we are taking one lick after another with all these bills popping up. It is like our city, county, state, and government wants us to lose everything we have and become homeless.

I am returning from a one- year deployment and will retire in the area upon my return. I have applied to numerous jobs in the area without a single e-mail returned or call to my house. We love this area and want to continue to be a part of the community. Hire a GI/vet please.

Property taxes rising. What are the low income or old retirees going to do? They want us to die and get out of the way.

It's easy to find a good, honest mechanic. Ask your friends.

To the person "not from here" who said that everyone here is dishonest: Until you've had an experience with "everyone" don't make such statements. A few may be dishonest, but there are many more who are not.

Please don't be desperate to marry someone just because you want children. If you can't have children, you will still be married to this man. Be sure you really want to spend the rest of your life with him. It is so sad to see a woman lower her standards and settle just because she wants a baby.

Lowndes County just sent a notice they are nearly doubling my water bill. Now my homestead exemption doesn't apply and the taxes are going up on my home. That's just great. Can someone lend me $100 so I can get my dump permit?

Thank you to the two brave men who stopped, detained and turned over a drunk driver to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department at the intersection of Hwy. 41 South and Perimeter Road. I saw it all and it looked as if you were trained to do that. We need more people like you.
