Rant & Rave for Tuesday, May 13, 2008
I’m a citizen in Cook County and I have a rant about two signs side by side in the middle of town asking us to vote for sheriff. Does it take two? This is an eye sore not to mention a hazard for drivers to see around. I thought Adel had a sign ordinance prohibiting signs being put in town.
Publication of DUI convictions with pictures in the paper is a good thing. Why not put parents who are behind in child-support payments? Other single people should know who not to date.
For those of you who seem to be so disgusted with homeless people, there could be a day that will come when you need some help and I hope they laugh in your face. What comes around, always goes around.
This rave goes out to Bethany Hospice. These people are awesome. Special thanks goes out to Paula Walker. Her professionalism, compassion and understanding is out of this world. You are special.
Abig rave to Valdosta-Lowndes County for the Brown Bag events, It was a fantastic week. And a big rant for those women who were so self-important they marked a table reserved, then showed up 45 minutes after the start of the program. Bad precedent.
Suggesting that residents of high-end neighborhoods should pay to transport vagrants to shelters is ridiculous. People who live in nicer areas made choices that got them there: Higher education over a HS diploma; a career with a salary over a job with a wage. If you’re envious, get a degree. Then buy a van and drive the vagrants yourself.
Thank you to The Valdosta Daily Times for listing where to find the lowest gas prices in our area on their Web site. This saves me time, money, and gas since I don’t have to drive all around town looking for a gas station with the best price. Thank you for this public service.
I taught for the county and if you put a negative or neutral comment on a elementary student’s report card it was brought back to you by the administration with a list of positive comments and you were told to pick one of them instead. Looks like the city does the same.
