Some of the older homes in town are selling too high. People have gone overboard with the pricing.
I would like to applaud the citizens of Berrien County for building such a fine administrative building. I enjoy traveling through cities and seeing monumental buildings with large pillars, marble floors, rotundas, and such. These buildings remind me of a time when America was young and a progressive society. It's about time we invest some money and start building those buildings again instead of putting up low cost sheet metal buildings in the middle of asphalt parking lots.
A big thank you to whoever came back and picked up their broken cabinet that had fallen off their vehicle in front of my mailbox on Highway 41 South. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Thanks to Shannon and her crew at the Lake Park Wendy's for the fast and friendly service I receive at lunch every day.
I'd like to rave about Sara Williams at Regions Bank for the great customer service. I was having problems using online banking and she was very kind and patient while helping me.
Let's see, illegally dump trash so the county has to pick it up so you don't have to pay at the dump. Sounds like a good idea until the county has to raise taxes to pay for the extra work. You'll still pay for dumping.
I have given this Old US 41 North expansion a great deal of thought. I travel this road a lot, and see the need for expansion, however, I can't see a need for the type of expansion they want to do. It needs repaving, and a turn lane for that seven mile stretch of 41 North. I would like to see that done, and the money saved, to expand Val Del Road.
I would like to send an invitation to the county commissioners to take a ride down Coppage Road from Val Del Road into Hahira. I think you will see it is in need of improvement. It is a disgrace the way it is.
Valdosta is a pro-military city and we support the troops. We did not know the 823rd were coming home so we had no way to be there and welcome them. If there were some advertisement to that affect, maybe we would have shown up.
Where are the officers with the Remerton Police Department? I rarely see them patrolling the neighborhoods. The bars are out of control again. I live three streets back and can hear the bands playing from inside my residence. Delinquents roam the streets at all hours of the night and commit acts of mischief. I was under the impression that a special group had been formed to put a stop to this, or at least that's what the new mayor claimed when he was running for office. I used to call the police, but it does no good. No one seems to care. Someone needs to take control of the situation before it worsens. Remerton cannot be its own city and fail to enforce its laws. Maybe the sheriff needs to pay the area a little attention. No one else seems to be.
