VALDOSTA — Stanley Art Lankford, 64, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a brief illness.

Mr. Lankford was born Aug, 13, 1949, in Homerville to Gladys Lee Lankford, Homerville, and the late Roy Hamilton Lankford. He was a superintendent for Lee Engineering, a blueberry farmer and was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church. He was past Worshipful Master Cassia Lodge 224, past President Homerville Exchange Club, past member of the Homerville Volunteer Fire Department, past Homerville City Council Member and police commissioner for City of Homerville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margo L. Hendley.  

Survivors other than his mother, are his wife, Rose Johns Lankford, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law, Emily L. and Dr. Myron Graham, Valdosta; one son and daughter-in-law, Stanley H. and Caroline Lankford, Homerville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Mary Lankford, Lamar and Betty Lankford, all of Homerville; five grandchildren, Olivia Lankford, Thomas Lankford, Jack Lankford, Harper Graham and Walker Graham; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Lankford will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Homerville First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Arabia Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
