James Edward Beauford Sr.

VALDOSTA — Mr. James  Edward Beauford Sr., 86 of Stockton, Ga. was born Feb. 20, 1926 to the late John E. Beauford and the late Luberta C. Beauford in Stockton, Ga. Mr. Beauford resided at 54 Beauford Lane in Stockton, Ga. He accepted Christ at a early age and joined the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as the Church Secretary for 50 years. He worked at Langdale Lumber Company for 35 years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie B. Beauford, three sisters, and five brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories five children, James E. Beauford, Jr., of Tampa, Fla., Bettie Roberts, Valdosta, Jesse Charles Beauford, Stockton, Ga., Steven A. Beauford (Silva), Brandywine, Md., and William E. Beauford (Deborah), Valdosta; one god son, Fredrick Mosley, Houston, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eloise Maxwell, St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Mardest Beauford, Valdosta, Cletis Parker, Hinesville, Willie Jo Bennett, Havana, Fla., Frances Forehand (Charles), Quincey, Fla., Louis Wright (J.C.), Tampa, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Jimmy R. William, Houston, Texas, Michael William (Carlann), Jackson, Miss.; special nephew and niece, J.C. and Rita Wolfe; special friends, Holmer Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mosley, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Riley, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Tomlin and The Tree of Knowledge Men.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 2, 2013 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Stockton, Ga. The Rev. Solomon  Wade will officiate. Interment will follow in Foreman Cemetery. — Final rites have been entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home.
