-- — Rena Mae Wright Morgan was born on Nov. 24, 1942 to the late Mr. Leroy Wright and the late Mrs. Lilliar Mae Wright in Valdosta, Ga. Rena married Willie Dampier in 1959 and she moved to Lansing Mich. where she worked for 30 years at General Motors retiring and moving back to Valdosta, Ga. and later she married Lindsey Morgan.

Rena was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Wright, Jr.; two children, Fay and Willie Dampier, Jr.; one grandson, Lamar Dampier.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three children, Patricia Dampier (Gilford) Taylor of Lansing, Mich., Paula Dampier of Valdosta, and Shannon Dampier of Santa Fe N.M.; 13 grandchildren, Larisha, Lateea, Latricia, Brandon, Demonte, Tanika, Felicia, Tella, Delmar, Rhonda, Wesley, Jewell and Justice; 18 great-grandchildren, Markeya, Lakeya, Brykel, Christopher, Ladaysha, Jurmaine, J’Quan, Kivon, Rodney, Raniya, Da’Niqueco, Timarion, Tiana, Terrence, Teonna, Lamar Jr., King and Markel; one great-great-grandson, Christopher; seven brothers and sisters, Corneilus Wright of Lansing, Mich., Charlie Wright, Barbara (Johnny) Goss, Amos (Debbie) Wright, and Linda (Clinton) Wright, all of Valdosta, and Ernestine (Calvin) Wright and Jimmy Wright of Panama City, Fla.; half sister, Sherry Robinson of Valdosta; aunt, Elizabeth Pierce of Valdosta; uncle, Robert (Ellen) Marrell of Lynn Haven, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Sara Whitlock and Mary (James) Breeden; brothers-in-law, Curtis Mack of Atlanta, Wayne Stewart, Andra Stewart of Valdosta, Bernard Stewart, Kalamazoo, Mich.; special niece, Petty Officer 2nd Class Shaundelle Wright of Norfolk, Va.; special friends Willie Dampier, and Moses Hobbs; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. The family would like to say thanks to the United Hospice for the caring of Rena Morgan.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Irvin Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Marion Dryer, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow  in Irvin Hill Church Cemetery. — Scott And Roberts Mortuary.
