William Lewis O’Keefe Jr., 81, of Cumming, Ga. died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Gracemont Assisted Living in Cumming, Ga. He was born on Jan. 25, 1932 in Sharon, Ga. to the late William Lewis O’Keefe, Sr. and Lila Mae Parham O’Keefe. Mr. O’Keefe was retired from civil service at Moody Air Force Base. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956. Mr. O’Keefe was a former member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and children’s bus ministry captain.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Hendrix O’Keefe of Cumming; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and David White of Cumming, Ga., one son and daughter-in-law, John and Katie O’Keefe of Lizella, Ga.; two granddaughters, Logan White and Lael White and one grandson, Jesse O’Keefe. Mr. O’Keefe is preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Jean O’Keefe.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at 3 p.m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Robert Dawson officiating. Burial will follow.
