Dorothy Roberts Miller

-- — Dorothy Roberts Miller, 79, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Matt Marston officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Jeff Miller, Jason Miller, John Turner and Alex Turner. Honorary casketbearers will be James Grogan, Joe Roberts, Brab Young, Mark Roberts and Michael Covington.

Born Sept. 25, 1933 in Norman Park, she was the daughter of the late J.C. Roberts, Sr. and Annie Bell Traywick Roberts.  She was a dental hygienist in Moultrie for over 40 years.  “She loved her family, her dental patients, fishing and her little dog Snickers,” her family remembered.  “She especially enjoyed sitting under her carport watching the butterflies and hummingbirds feeding on her flowers.” She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. “Bill” Miller; two brothers, J.C. Roberts, Jr. and Johnny Roberts; three sisters, Hazel Covington, Doris Grogan and Lula Mae Young.

Survivors include two sons, David Miller and wife Susan of Valdosta and William E. “Bill” Miller and wife Cathy of Moultrie; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Miller of Orange Park, Fla.; one sister, Betty Jean Branan of Hiwassee, Ga.; six grandchildren, Melanie Miller Turner and husband John, Jeff Miller and wife Abby, Jason Miller and Tyler Moser, all of Moultrie, Amy Gail Miller of Valdosta and Savannah Miller of Orange Park, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Brooke McClelland, Alex Turner, Alexis Turner, Jaina Turner, Juliette Turner, Bryson Miller and Skylar Moser.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, Aug. 24, 2013 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Child Advocacy Centers of Moultrie, Valdosta or Thomasville. — Cobb Funeral Chapel.
