VALDOSTA — Royce Tuten, 79, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Oct. 2, 2013, at Beggs Funeral Home with burial in San Pedro Cemetery.

He was born in Madison County, Fla., and worked as a maintenance supervisor for 38 years at Owen Illinois Paper Mill.

He loved to fish, garden and yard work, and was very family oriented. He was a deacon and a member of Madison Lodge No. 11, Mason and served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Tuten of  Madison, Fla.; one son, Roy Allen Tuten (Caron) of Vienna; two daughters, Cheryl Pinkard (Joe) of Valdosta, and Wanda Gail Adams (Paul) of Madison, Fla.; three brothers, Steve Tuten and Douglas Tuten, both of Madison, Fla.; Clyde Tuten of Perry; one sister, Barbara Roberts of Madison; six grandchildren, Richard Tuten, Jennifer Carter, Kevin Tuten, Christina Okuma, Jason Adams, and Matthew Adams; and 12 great-grandchildren.
