Stewart Charles Primrose “Chicken” was born on Dec. 19, 1953 in Valdosta, Ga., to the late Stewart E. Primrose and Martha Ann Foster Primrose. He departed this life Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was married to Sarah Ruth Primrose.
Stewart received his education through the Valdosta City School System and was a proud graduate of Valdosta High School.
He was a faithful member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church where he served as an usher, a member of the male chorus and the Sons of Allen. He loved his church and loved leading devotion before Sunday Morning Worship Services. He was employed as a roofer for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sarah Ruth Primrose; one daughter, Tarnishia Scott (Pastor Eric Scott) of Macon; mother, Martha Ann Foster Primrose; siblings, Annie Lois Allen, Donald Primrose, Janice Primrose Moore and Dwight Primrose (Louise); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Greater St. Peter A.M.E. Church, 500 E. Gordon St., Valdosta. The Rev. James Wright, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on today from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. — Stevens Funeral Home of Valdosta
