Michael William Terwilliger, MSGT (USAF Ret.), 51, of Lake Park, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013. He was born on Aug. 15, 1962, in Queens, N.Y., and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Terwilliger was currently serving as the Emergency Preparedness Director for the South Health District and was a member of Christ the King Episcopal Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. Michael enjoyed spending time with his daughters and granddaughter and family was very important to him. He always wanted to help others and in his death he was an organ donor.
He was always giving his all to face life’s challenges. Michael was an avid supporter of the Lowndes High Georgia Bridgeman.
Survivors include his wife, Robin L. Terwilliger; two daughters, Stephanie Nicole Terwilliger, Heather R. Terwilliger, all of Lake Park; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Renee “Bitbit” Richardson; his parents, Weston and Carol Terwilliger of Woodstock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd Weston Terwilliger and Tonia Terwilliger of Acworth, David Ross Terwilliger and Malissa Terwilliger of Cartersville; his sister, Debra Lynn Terwilliger of Woodstock; parents-in-law, Richard L. and Jacqueline M. Glessner; two brothers-in-law, Richard Lee Glessner II and Todd Allen Glessner, all of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., today, Aug. 23, 2013, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Father Stan White officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home
