-- — Betty Jean Ashburn, 74, of Lakeland, Ga., passed away March 29, 2014 at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center. She was born March 13, 1940 in Worth County, Ga., to the late Jessie and Berta (Partain) Massey.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeland.  Having a love for children, she worked in the Lanier County School System for many years as a substitute teacher.  Her passion was crocheting and sewing.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Massey and Brother-in-law, Joyce Moore

Survivors Include: Daughter and Son-in-law, Paula and Sam Paglioni, Kennesaw, Ga.,; Daughter, Pamela Ashburn Smith, Raleigh, N.C., Son and Fiancé, Curtis Ashburn and Chris Taylor, Lakeland, Ga., Daughter and Son-in-law, Donna and Donald Bennett, Stockton, Ga., Son and Daughter-in-law, David and Maria Ashburn, Valdosta, Ga., A number of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Brother and Sister-in-law, Jerry and Margaret Massey, Thomasville, Ga., Sister and Companion, Judy Moore and David Earp, Naylor, Ga., Sister and Brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Curtis Wilson, Griffin, Ga., Brother and Sister-in-law, Jesse and Nita Massey, Ray City, Ga., Sister and Brother-in-law, Donnas and Jim Payne, Cleveland, Tenn., and a number of nieces and nephews.
