Louise Gaskins, 85, of West Berrien, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Clare Bridge Assisted Living in Winter Haven, Fla.
She was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Duval County, Fla., to the late George Edward Clark and the late Ruth Swint. She was a homemaker and a retired secretary with the Berrien County Health Department. She was the widow of Elder Thomas Lamar Gaskins and was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Edward “Jo Ed” Gaskins; and three sisters, Virginia Colasurdo, Lois Lindsey and Georgette Baker.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Russ) Clifford of Winter Haven, Fla., Vickie (Arthur) Gunn of Milledgeville, Ga.; one son, Tommy Gaskins of West Berrien; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Gunn officiating.
Interment will be in Oakey Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
