-- — “J.C.” John Cecil Rowe Sr., age 83, of Lake Park, Ga., passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 following an extended illness. Mr. Rowe was born on February 21, 1930 in Alapaha, Ga., to the late James Pearlie Rowe and Lee Merchant Rowe. As a young man, J.C. served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He returned to Georgia and soon secured a job at Owens-Illinois (PCA) in Clyattville, Georgia where he worked until he retired.  J.C. was predeceased by his wife, Pearl Rowe and a son, Marty Rowe.

Survivors include two sons, Cecil Rowe (Marla), Jasper, FL. and Danny Rowe, Lake Park, Ga.; one brother, J.P. Rowe, Ocilla, Ga.; five grandchildren, Amber Jones (Chris), Jody Rowe (Nichole), Justin Rowe, Brandon Rowe and Amanda Wright; five great-grandchildren, Fischer and Fennley Jones, Johnathen, Emma and Landon Rowe.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday December 1, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church near Jennings, FL. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Echols County.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, Fla., — Harry T. Reid Funeral Home.
