Doris Laverne Ammons Register, 75, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Register was born June 26, 1938, in Homerville, Ga., to the late Frank Ammons and Ruth Lee Ammons. She was a homemaker and member of the DuPont Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, William J. “Billy” Register, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Donald Robbins, Manor; one sister, Jolene Ammons, Orlando, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Mary Ammons, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kylee and Brian Brown, Manor and Kristen Robbins, Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Collin Brown and Nick Brown, Manor; a helpful cousin, Ronald Morgan, Homerville; a special companion, Buffy; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Register will be held Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
