Alexander Washington

VALDOSTA — Alexander Washington was called suddenly to his heavenly home in the early morning hours of April 27, 2013. Alex was born May 11, 1972 to the proud parents of Arthur and Willie Mae Washington. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Alex graduated from Lowndes High School and Valdosta Technical College. He was the proud father of four children. Family and friends described him as a hardworking, fun loving, and caring individual. He was a person who had a zest for life.

He was employed as a driver for Martin’s Famous Pastry. He was also the owner and operator of Five Star Car Wash and Pressure Washing.

Alex was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He leaves to cherish his memories. Teresa Washington, the mother of three of his children, Courtne Washington, Trinady Washington, and Ta’Liyah Washington, all of Hahira, and Micah Lightsey mother (Candy Lightsey) of Valdosta Ga.; five sisters and one brother, Tammy Gosier (Eddie) of Hahira, Stephanie Black (Vince) of Warner Robins, Ga., Jennifer Washington of Hahira, Dexter Washington (Kimberly), of Valdosta, Obeatrice Simmons (Tommy) of Valdosta, Debra Washington/Bradley of Macon; and a special friend Kathy Perry; also a host of incredibly special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in laws, brother in laws and friends. Special thanks to Pastor David Gordon and members of First Baptist Church family and the Martin’s Famous Pastry and family.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hahira First Baptist Church, 201 N. Church Street Hahira. The Rev. David Gordon, pastor and the Rev. Edward Pearson, will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. — Scott And Roberts Mortuary
