Francis Cornelius Long, 73, of Harlem, Ga., beloved husband of 48 years and best friend of Olivia Tucker Long passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Harlem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Mike Shearon officiating.
Francis is survived by his wife Olivia Long; his son Ray Long and his wife Beverly; his daughter Vivian Long; two grandchildren Jessica and Emily; and two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Conner. He is also survived by his five brothers, William E. Long, Leonard and Gail Long, Rodney and Jo Long, Charlie and Anne Long and Hugh and Megan Long; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Francis was born in Quitman, Ga. and lived in parts of Georgia for most of his life. He attended Berry College in Rome Georgia for two years, worked for General Telephone for over 15 years, and received his Masters in Business Administration from Georgia Southern College. Francis worked as a CPA in Statesboro, Ga., San Antonio, Texas and Harlem, Ga. and had many loving friends and clients. Francis enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, reading, cooking and working in his garden.
