VALDOSTA —

Virginia Pope Crosby, 89 Of Quitman, GA passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Presbyterian Home, Quitman. She was born on October 3, 1923 in Alma, FL to the late Henry and Zula (Deason) Pope. She was a Christian and member of the Worldwide Church of God in Moultrie, GA. She worked as a seamstress with Levi Strauss. Mrs. Pope was the best mother in the world who had a kind heart and her children were her life. She enjoyed fishing and swimming. She was preceded in death by her husbands, E.H. “Cooter” Jamerson and Austin Crosby, two daughters, Merie Johnson and Claudine McBride.

 Her survivors include daughters:  Ernestine and Robert Bateman of Quitman, GA; Emma Jean and Dennis Pitts of Lamont, FL; Helen and Thomas Peach of Moultrie, GA; Carolyn A. and Kendall Graham of Quitman, GA; one son, Joe Jamerson of Quitman, GA; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
