Tommy Eugene (Pop Pop) Head, 81, of Valdosta died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born on January 2, 1933 to the late William B. and Beulah Berry Head. Mr. Head was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and served more than twenty three years in the United States Air Force. He loved the Lord, doing things with his family, the outdoors and going to church.
Survivors include his wife of sixty three years, Nadine Head of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Craig and Cathy Head of Adel, grandsons and their wives, Tristan and Tamie Head of Lexington, SC, Justin and April Ramella of Seattle, WA, great grandchildren, Elizabeth Ramella and Makayla Ramella both of Seattle, WA, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant child, his brother, Lloyd Head, James Head, Burel Head, his sisters, Adel Blalock, Bessie Maines, Dorothy Corley, Willene Barnhart and Geraldine Hood, his parents in law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Landon and a brother in law, James L. Landon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Willis and Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. Mr. Head will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time. Entombment with military honors will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
