Ben ‘Blue Rebel’ Terry, 64, of Quitman, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born on July 6, 1949, to the late Lonnie and Corena (White) Terry. He worked as a truck driver for more than 47 years and was currently working for State Line Trucking. He was a family man and enjoyed fishing and talking on CB radio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Goodman, a brother, Buddy Terry, and a son-in-law, Mark Flynn.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Terry, Valdosta; aon, Troy Terry Jr., Valdosta; five daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Lea Terry Courson, Philadelphia, Tenn., Kathy Flynn, Quitman, Ga., Georgia McHan, Lake Park, Ga., Christie McHan and D.J. Kinard, Quitman, Ga, Bonnie and Mike Terry, Quitman, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, Wendy, Crimson, Dustin, Dakota, Raven, Riley, Destiny, Carlee, Lamar, LaShae, Zachary “Little Rebel”, Brianna, Tigger, Kayla and Lewis; one great-granddaughter, Mikaela; two sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline and John Lucas, Illinois, Virginia Eunice, Nashville, Ga.; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard “Junk” Terry, Quitman, Ga., Ed and Jean Hutchinson, Madison, Fla., Bobby Terry, Lake City, Fla., Troy “Double T” and Linda Terry, Quitman, Ga., Walter and Annie Harrelson, Cecil, Ga.; his first wife, Ellen Terry, Philadelphia, Tenn., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services with Jake Terry officiating. As per his wishes, he will be cremated following the services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 10 a.m. until service time.
