Mrs. Dana Jean Cooper, 55 of Barney passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Cooper was born Oct. 12, 1957 in Killen, Ala. to James and Barbara Peck. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Owen Cooper of Barney; three daughters, Libby Cooper Griner of Barney, Casi Cooper of Barney, and Ashley Cooper of Barney; five grandchildren, Jessica Griner, Skyler Hodges, Leanna Hodges, Trent Harris, and Trevor Harris; father, James Peck of Killen, Alabama; two brothers, Phillip Peck of Killen, Alabama, and Greg Peck of St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Hale Peck, and one sister, Jana Hunt.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tony Marshall, and Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
