Carroll Craven, 69, of Nashville, died Thursday November 14, 2013 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
He was born January 6, 1944 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Henry C. Craven and the late Peggy Simpson. He was a retired lineman with Georgia Power Company and was a cattleman. He was a member of Cross Creek Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a true “simple man” who dearly loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Ronnie Craven and Larry Craven.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Stalvey Craven of Nashville; 2 daughters: Shannon (Rob) Hawkins of Ray City, Shawna (Greg) Hughes of Nashville; son: Trae (Terri) Craven of Nashville; brother: Seabron (Ruth) Craven of Valdosta; 2 sister-in-laws: Ann Courson of Baxley and Susan Zipperer of Valdosta; 8 grandchildren: Quade and Ethan Hawkins, Maredith and Mallary Hughes, Cullen, Brooke, Halle, and Henry Craven.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 18, 2013 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Swain and Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday from 7 to 9 PM.
