Juanita Crawford, 97, of Stockton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
Juanita was born on October 30, 1915 in Stockton, Georgia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Steve Sirmans.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Tal Crawford on August 13, 1933. Their union was blessed with five children. She joined St. Lewis Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Union Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and a mother figure until her health begin to decline.
Juanita had a loving and giving spirit she was always willing to help those in need.
Juanita leaves to cherish her memory 3 devoted daughters and 2 sons; Alene Holmes, Johnnie Mae Williams, and Mr. & Mrs. Darryl (Barbara) Smith, all of Lithonia, GA, Tal Crawford Jr. of Albany, Ga and Mr. & Mrs. Willie Frank of Columbus, Ga. Also one loving Sister, Ruth Thomas of Riviera Beach, Fl. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Annie Pearl Crawford of Detroit, Michigan, as well as a brother in law, Benjamin Holmes of Orlando, Fl. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grand children and 22 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be Sunday, September 1, at 3:00 p.m. at Union Cathedral in Valdosta, GA with Bishop Wade S. McCrae officiating.
