Mrs. Martha Jean Crosby, 82, of Adel, Ga., passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel. She was born February 13, 1931 to the late C.F.H. Taylor and Mamie Adkins Taylor in Adel and has lived in Cook County all of her life. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and a homemaker, as well as a small business entrepreneur of businesses which she ran out of her home.
Mrs. Crosby is survived by her brother, Bill Taylor of Adel; a sister, Jerri Dingus of Defiance, OH; as well as many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Taylor; two sisters, Charlie Faye Coppage and Mendie Lou Pinner; three half brothers, Burle, Reese and W.B. Taylor; and three half-sisters, Edna Stone, Pauline Duggan, and Reva Mae Felts.
Mrs. Crosby's family will receive friends Monday, April 8, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave, Adel, GA. The funeral service will take place Tuesday April 9, 2013 at Antioch United Methodist Church at 10 AM with Dr. Vance B. Mathis and Dr. William Taylor, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to your local hospice.
