Eve Dopko, 99 of Valdosta, Ga. passed away early Saturday, July 27, 2013 in the Langdale Hospice House from a brief illness. She was born Aug. 19, 1913 to the late Ludovico and Vincenzia (Martinelli) DeMuzzio in Bellaire, Ohio. She was a member of the St. John Evangelist Catholic Church and was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II. She enjoyed devoting time to St. John Council of Catholic Women, the Pink Ladies of SGMC, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and was a Charter Member of the Valle d, Aosta Italian- American Club. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Edward Dopko; brothers: Frank DeMuzzio, Charles DeMuzzio, James DeMuzzio; sisters: Rose Durrant and Minnie Shapiro and sons-in-law: Don Kindley and Chuck Mills.
Survivors include her daughter: Beverly Kindley of Valdosta; daughter: Pat Mills of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law: Joyce and Bill Lenz of Manning, S.C.; grandson, Charles Mills of Valdosta;
grandson: Donald “Brett” (Susan) Mills of Miami, Fla.; granddaughter: Shawn (Craig) Wilson of Barboursville, Va.; grandson: Patrick “Mike” (Jennifer) Mills of Eustis, Fla.; grandson: Jimmie (Kim) Lenz of Ladue, Mo.; grandson: Scott Lenz of Chesterfield, S.C.; grandson: Bill Lenz of Chesterfield, S.C.; granddaughter: Robin Glasscock of Brunswick; grandson: Jeff and (Susan) Kindley of Windermere, Fla.; great-grandson: Cole (Alyssa) Glasscock of Brunswick; great- grandson: Kyle Kindley of Windermere, Fla.; great-grandson: Cannon Glasscock of Brunswick; great-granddaughter: Lindsey Mills of Tallahassee, Fla.; great-granddaughter: Lauren Mills of Miami, Fla.; great-grandson: Christopher Wilson of Villa Rica, Ga.; great- granddaughter: Brittany Snow of Barboursville, Va.; great-grandson: Patrick Mills of Eustis, Fla.; great-grandson: Alex Mills of Camp LeJune, N.C.; great-granddaughter: Chelsea Mills of Richmond, Va.; great-granddaughter: Caitlin Lenz of Ladue, Mo.; great- granddaughter: Kelsey Lenz of Ladue, Mo.; great-grandson: Elliott Lenz of Valdosta; great-granddaughter: Darcy Lenz of Birmingham, Ala.; great-granddaughter: Madison Lenz of Lake Wylie, N.C.; and great-great grandchildren: Travis, Brandon and Nathan Snow, Lexington Wilson.
Funeral mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in the St. John Evangelist Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. A Rosary and visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m., this evening, July 30, 2013 at the church.
