Mrs. Margaret Lee “Dot” Webb passed away on July 23, 2013 at the age of 101. Mrs. Webb was born Nov. 25, 1911 in Ashburn, Ga. to the late Annie Lee Lindsey and Willis Curtis Smith. At the age of three she moved with her parents to Brooks County where she remained until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fonsey R. Webb. They operated Webb & Webb Grocery in Dixie, Ga. for 50 years. Upon their retirement in 1975, they moved to Quitman, Ga. where Mrs. Webb worked part time for Allied Department Stores retiring there at the age of 81. She was a member of Dixie Baptist Church.
Mrs. Webb is survived by her three children Therlisel (Eugene) Griffin of Augusta, Ga., Linda (Tom) Myers of Atlanta, Ga. and Gayle (Joseph) Palmer of Camilla, Ga. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Julie Griffin Page, Al Griffin, Candice Phillips Branche, Cayce Myers, Laurie Palmer and Joelle Palmer and five great-grandchildren: Rachel Page, Drew Page, Alex Griffin, Lexie Branche and Lindsey Branche.
Funeral services will be held at Dixie Baptist Church on Sunday July 28th at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends at Dixie Baptist Church at Sunday July 28, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. The Reverend Jimmy Voyles will officiate accompanied by Andy Daughtry. Internment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, Ga. Pallbearers are Tom Myers, Cayce Myers, Al Griffin, Alex Griffin, Ed Page and Drew Page.
