-- — Inman “Averitt” Walker, age 66, of Lehigh Acres, Fla. passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Statenville/ Echols County, Ga. on May 7, 1947 to the late Adam and Irene Thornton Walker.  He resided in the Valdosta, Ga. area until 1978 when he relocated to Southwest Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Dennis Walker; a daughter, Victoria Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Carla Butler; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Phillip, Madisson, and Mackenzie; and a great-grandson, Gabriel, all of whom reside in Lehigh Acres, Fla. He is also survived by six brothers: Coy Walker (Cheryl), Myakka City, Fla., Leroy Walker, Dasher, Ga., Daniel Walker (Sheila), Jasper, Fla., Larry Walker (Sandy), Valdosta, Ga., and Gary Walker (Judy), Nokomis, Fla.; two sisters, Grace Willis (Ronnie), Valdosta, Ga., and Carolyn Mixon (Chris), Clyattville, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Adam Walker Jr. and Richard Walker.

No funeral or memorial service will be held based on Mr. Walker’s wishes. Instead of mourning his passing from this earthly life, his wishes were for his going home to be celebrated. Those who trust in Jesus will never say goodbye, we simply say, “I will see you later, on the other side.”

“I am the Resurrection and the Life; he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die” (John 11:25-26).
