Joanne R. Farmer, 77, of Naylor, Ga. passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. She was born on April 27, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late Robert and Ruth (Lott) McKinney. She had lived in Naylor, Ga. for 49 years and worked as a sales associate at the BX at Moody Air Force Base before retiring in 1976. Mrs. Farmer also sold Avon in the Naylor area and she attended Naylor Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt. Jack E. Farmer, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Farmer, and a brother-in-law, Edward Hagan.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and John Bush of Lakeland, Fla.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Stacey Farmer of Naylor; Jack Farmer and Sabrina Petty of Naylor; Doug and Mary Beth Farmer of Naylor; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one god child, Ryan Camp of Douglas; sister, Janet Hagan of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a very special friend, Judy Carosa of Naylor; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Lowndes County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. this evening, March 29, 2013 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
