Mildred B. Davis, 98, of Howell, Ga., passed away Saturday morning March 22, 2014 in South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a brief illness. She was born May 15, 1915 to the late George T. and Claudie Ina Hackney Boswell in Thompson, McDuffie County, Ga. She had lived in Howell Echols County, Ga., most of her life. She had been a resident of Baptist Village in Lake Park, Ga., for the past two years. She was a non-denominational Christian. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lester Davis, and her three children, Charles Davis, Wayne Davis, and Ann Davis Bussey, one grandson Jeffery Davis. The family would like to express their appreciation to Minnnie James and all the staff at Baptist Village in Lake Park for all of their care and support.
Survivors: 2 Daughters-in-law – Charlene Davis – Clyattville, GA, Jean Davis – Mayday, GA; 7 Grandchildren – Charlotte Collins, Curtis Davis, Cynthia Taylor, Chuck Davis, Michael Davis, Michelle Rewis, and Hope Cortez; Great Grandchildren — Ashley, Shawna, Chasity, Cole, Sara, Brett, Jacob, Savannah, and Caroline; Great Great Grandchildren – Shiloh, Gage, and Brennen; A special nephew and his wife – Vernon and Juanita Davis – Howell, GA; Special Friends – Christine Deloach and Robbie Nell Sowell
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday March 25, 2014 in the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church in Echols County, Ga., with burial in the Church cemetery.
