Leland Dame Hutto

VALDOSTA — Leland Dame Hutto, 75, of Valdosta, went to his heavenly home on May 21, 2013. He was born on April 13, 1938, to Rudolph L. and Mary Irene Marshall Hutto. He grew up on the farm and attended Hahira Schools. He graduated from Hahira High School with the Class of 1956. He enlisted in the Marines, served his country, and was honorably discharged. While working at the paper mill in Clyattville, he married Dorothy Sanders. In 1965, he took his wife and children to Montana where he became a hunting guide and later he worked at a sawmill and had a small dairy for a short time. Those were wonderful years his family will always remember and hold dear. In 1972, he moved his family back to Georgia and had lived here since that time. He worked for more than 30 years in the construction business, retiring only a few years ago. He was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord and his church family at Abundant Life Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Irene Hutto; two sisters, Ethel Harper and Eva Gregory; brother, Merle Hutto; and his daughter, Linda D Sumner Bowden.
