Sara Mae Cribbs

VALDOSTA — Sara Mae Cribbs, 86, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.

 Mrs. Cribbs was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Hamilton County, Fla., to the late Dennis Cribbs and Rosebell McClain Cribbs and lived in Clinch County most of her life. She was a retired school bus driver and janitor, homemaker, seamstress, and an ordained minister and Mother of the Higher Heights Church.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Isom Dewey Cribbs; two sons, Melvin Allen Cribbs and Elton Cribbs; one sister, Grace Cribbs Tomlinson; five brothers, Houston Cribbs, Charles Frank Cribbs, Price Cribbs, Dennis W. Cribbs and Emory Isom Cribbs.  

Survivors are three daughters, Mary Alice Cribbs Guess, husband Bobby, of Pearson, Nellouise Cribbs Ellis and Ima Jean Cribbs Knowles, husband, Merle, of Fargo; four sons, Dewey Allen Cribbs, wife Wesley Jane, James Elmer Cribbs, wife, Wanda and Willard Cribbs, wife Ruth, all of Jasper, and Dennis Lamar Cribbs, wife, Karen, Lakeland; three sisters, Nettie Alma Cribbs Taylor, Fargo, Rosa Bell Cribbs, MacClenny, Fla., and Janell Cribbs Padgett, Palatka, Fla.; 42 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great- grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 Funeral services for Mrs. Cribbs will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the Higher Heights Church in Fargo. Interment will be in the Ramah Cemetery.

 The family will receive friends today from 5 p.m. until at the Higher Heights Church in Fargo.
