Mary Lou Erickson, 81, of Twin Lakes died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born on March 14, 1932 in Bastrop, La. to the late Ferroll W. and Lovette Gentry McLeod and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Mrs. Erickson loved her family and was a very kind, generous and warm-hearted loving person. She graduated from Bastrop High School in Bastrop, La. in 1950.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and John Caylor of Lometa, Texas; her grandson, Jonathan and Shannon Caylor of Killeen, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Paige Caylor both of Killeen, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and John Manion, brother and sister-in-law, Ferroll (Mac), Jr. and Mary Ann McLeod, all of Twin Lakes, nieces and nephews, Robin and Layton Dees of Twin Lakes, Patty and Roger Cox of Gainesville, Fla., Jim and Nancy McLeod of Hoover, Ala., Rebecca and Doyle Brooks of Monroe, La., Terri and Randy Farmer of Lilburn, Ga.; numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, CMSGT, Alfred John (Eric) Erickson (USAF RET.)
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013 on the lake that Mary Lou loved living on at 5506 George Merrick Circle, Lake Park, GA 31636. The family request that all those who attend the memorial service please dress casual and comfortable for the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Langdale Hospice House, 2251 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.— Carson McLane Funeral Home.
