On May 24th, at the age of 70, Diane W. Davis went home to be with the Lord. Born in Atlanta, Ga., May 1, 1943, she was the fourth child of Harry and Myrtle Ward with older brothers Harry Jr., Donald and Kenneth.
She is survived by her brother, Donald; and sons, Kenneth and Jack; granddaughter, Ashley; and many other loving family members.
Diane was an office manager/bookkeeper for most of her working life, which included several years with international organizations in Washington, D.C. Since moving to Valdosta in 1988, she had been employed by LARC Services.
A victim of breast cancer in the 1980s, upon moving to Valdosta she became instrumental in the conception of the Bosom Buddies, a cancer support group and was active in the Relay for Life Survivors team.
Memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013, at LARC Services, 1646 E. Park Ave., presided by the Rev. Jim Schappaugh.
