Sue Rumph Tyner, 67, of Adel, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at her home following a battle with cancer. She was born on Feb. 7, 1946, in Valdosta, to the late L.C. and Audrey Sally Simpson Rumph. She was a resident of Cook County for the past 20 plus years in Adel. Mrs. Tyner was a LPN and a licensed real estate agent. She was also a member of Westside Baptist Church in Adel.
Mrs. Tyner is survived by her husband, Donald O. Tyner of Adel; a daughter, Suzy Rusk of Albany; a son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Penny Moran of Tupelo, Miss.; five grandchildren, Adrian Johnson and Aaron Johnson, both of Albany, Ga., Michael Moran, Josh Moran and Morgan Moran, all of Tupelo, Miss.; one great-granddaughter, Emma Moran; two brothers, Robert (Lois) Rumph of Adel, Ga., and Thomas (CeCe) Rumph of Valdosta; four sisters, Jean Davis of Long Beach, Miss., Pat Godwin of Valdosta, Barbara (Jake) Bodiford of Daphne, Ala., and Joyce (Bill) Ostean of Powder Springs, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Rumph of Valdosta, and Janette Lee of Jonesboro, Ark.; several nieces and nephews also survive as well as a special companion, “Rudy.”
Mrs. Tyner was preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Wylene Rumph; and a brother, Raymond Hollis Rumph.
Mrs. Tyner’s family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Studstill officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Annex on East Fourth Street in Adel.
